The Beatles Italian Tour | Book
After booming in the United States and conquering the music market in every english speaking country, Brian Epstein, The Beatles’ legendary manager, decides to organize a short European tour. His purpose is to enlarge the audience in markets traditionally considered more difficult, such as France, Italy and Spain. Italy was thought to be the country of “bel canto”, well-known for its opera: thus it would have accepted only the kind of pop music more melodic and traditional. Therefore, on June 23rd 1965, The Beatles arrived in Italy for their first and only one tour. This book documents, for the first time, the three stages of the Italian tour: Milan, Genoa and Rome, with the support of photos mostly un-released before. In order to get a detailed description of the chronicle a probing research in the archives of more popular magazines of the time was carried out, together with a scrupolous consultation of music and custom magazine of Sixties. In the end, an appendix has been inserted with a special chapter dedicated to collectibles.
